MY LOCATION

I have chosen this particular location as I feel it portrays the ‘grittiness’ of society that is advertised through the Hip Hop genre. The base wall is off white, with specs that have not been painted pushing a darker colour through. Through mixture of bright and dark colours creates a perfect scene, a setting which is not perfect yet not unpleasant to look at. The imperfect setting could almost be seen as a metaphor, that Hip Hop and RnB is not perfect yet each artist makes it work for them, much like Karisma within this photo shoot. The fact that Karisma does not look out of place, works well for the location also, she fits in well for the ‘unfinished’ theme as her hair is not perfect & her snapback hat is not on properly. The setting ties all three pieces together, by giving the artist an underground feel, and emphasizing the youth of the artist.
